I'm being sued for an auto accident that happened two years ago. The lawsuit has dragged on for all this time with not much communication from my insurance company. We had our depositions. Now, today, I received a letter from my insurance company instructing me to sign an affidavit stating that I had no excess insurance (in addition to my policy with this company) at the time of the accident. My question is, why do they want this from me? Why now?
